inspiring women PD & networking
veski offered the inspiring women program for professional development and networking to gender equity committee members, early-to-mid career researchers, females with a background in STEM, research office administrative staff and anyone interested in inspiring Victoria’s future female leaders.
In 2016 veski continued its highly successful series of open invitation events, with broader skills training and education, to meet the need for developing more women to become decision makers, senior management, product developers and members of Australian boards.

Themes in 2016 included:
- overcoming gender bias
- planning for and managing career interruptions
- transitioning from academia to industry and
- how best to support women working in STEM.
veski also designed activities and workshops to meet the needs of women identified in our audience surveys, including marketing, selling your skill set, interviewing well, networking and working with mentors, developing authentic relationships and managing ongoing relationships.
The inspiring women program was made possible through partnerships with government, industry, community and academia.
