Daniela Nikolic
veski inspiring women industry intern
In July 2016, Daniela Nikolic was awarded a veski inspiring women industry internship over four months. She is working 2-3 days/week and applying her chemical engineering skills at PolyNovo, a medical device company based in Port Melbourne.
Daniela, a Chemical Engineering Masters student from the University of Melbourne, is reviewing and summarizing the intellectual property literature of existing breast and hernia sling technologies which will help guide future developments for PolyNovo’s patented biodegradable polymers.
During her internship at PolyNovo, Daniela is also gaining valuable insights about biotechnology research and development in a highly regulated industry.
Daniela has been actively involved with the SPARK Engineering Camp, and supported and mentored secondary students in voluntary outreach roles at the University of Melbourne.
veski inspiring women industry internships are managed by veski with the support of the Office of the Lead Scientist, industry and academic partners.
Working closely with the interns and their hosting companies, veski coordinates reporting, promotion and a masterclass series to underpin the veski inspiring women internships.
